About the Role
A state government agency is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer (Civil) to join its Asset Management team within the Technical Services Unit. This role will provide expert technical advice to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the state-controlled road network. With a strong focus on engineering quality and whole-of-life asset performance, this position plays a vital part in enabling safe and sustainable transport outcomes across one of Queensland's most dynamic regions.
The South Coast Region spans over 6,500 km² and encompasses key local government areas including Gold Coast, Logan City, and Scenic Rim. The successful candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure best-practice engineering solutions and contribute to a high-performing public infrastructure network.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct civil infrastructure assessments and prepare detailed engineering reports
- Develop and implement asset management strategies that minimise lifecycle costs
- Provide technical support during project planning and design phases
- Determine material and component specifications to meet engineering requirements
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, policies, and legislative frameworks
- Oversee quality assurance procedures and support continuous improvement
- Engage and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Supervise and coordinate work activities of junior engineers and technical staff
- Report directly to the Principal Engineer (Asset Management) and deliver on assigned tasks with autonomy and accountability

Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (Washington Accord-accredited or equivalent)
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Provision of suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Willingness to undergo Criminal History Screening
- Full working rights are required
